Dr. Todd R. Shepler is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery who specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid, orbital, and tear drain surgery. Born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dr. Shepler attended Rice University on a track scholarship after winning the 5A Oklahoma Cross-Country State Championship. He transferred to the University of Kansas, graduating with honors in 1993 with a B.S. in Human Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He then attended the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine where he served as Class President.

After medical school, Dr. Shepler completed a transitional year internship at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas, then moved to San Francisco where he completed a three-year residency in ophthalmology, serving as Chief Resident at California Pacific Medical Center. He then completed a two-year fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Austin, Texas. He has been practicing in the Austin area since 2002 and served as President of the Austin Ophthalmology Society from 2003–2005.

Dr. Shepler was named to Texas Monthly's 2013 Super Doctors list — awarded to the top 5% of physicians in Texas. He is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and has been actively teaching students, interns, residents, and fellows in the central Texas area since 2002.

His hobbies include running, boating, fly-fishing, snow-skiing, traveling, and coaching soccer for his two boys. He is married to Maria C. Shepler, M.D., a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery.
